Cycling in Hantana

This is a 3 – 4-hour adventure cycle tour which is carried out in a leisurely manner. The guests will be picked up from their hotel in Kandy and will soon be transferred to the starting point which is the Ceylon Tea Museum. Then begins the ride that is known as the Popular Hantana climb. The journey will take the traveler through the flora and fauna accompanied by breaks during which refreshments will be provided.

The path will become traffic free once reaching the top through tea plantations. An hour’s ride is required to reach the top and the ride will continue through Udawela till the trail is diverted into a gravel terrain. Guests will be able to see the locals engaging in tea-plucking. The trail will be rocky and a fusion of climbs and descends. Afterward, the riders will be left with two options that is either to select a more challenging terrain and descend to Peradeniya or take the same path back that leads to Heerassagala junction to conclude the trail.
