The Charleston, Galle Fort

Another gem, hidden behind the walls of the Galle fort, toward the southern end, The Charleston is a promising new find. It comprises nine suites of varying sizes spread across two floors. Previously constructed as a merchant villa, it preserves the colonial architecture, while furnishing its interiors with modern art and fabric, and comprises a pool.
All rooms are furnished with modern art, with locally sourced wood, and fabrics. The terrace rooms are 20m2 while courtyard rooms with balcony are 25m2 in size. The terrace rooms are located in the annex building overlooking the garden and contains king or queen size beds. This room can be connected to a Terrace Twin room that may work well for a family. The courtyard rooms in the main building contains large openable windows that provide vibrant views of the fort, and it can be connected to another courtyard room that would function well for a family. The Charlie’s pub & Bistro is open for all in-house guests and outsiders to unwind and sip a cocktails overlooking the views of the ramparts and the Indian ocean.
