Sigiriya Cycle Tour

This cycle tour commences close to the Sigiriya rock fortress, and ride along the irrigational canal passing agricultural lands of sweet potato, beans, Finger millets and rice paddies. This lush greenery is the habitat of a wide variety of birds. While observing the natural rhythm of local life, first you could stop at bunds of a little lake where a short break will be taken in view of the stunning lion Rock while the team serves some local snacks and beverages.

Later on, you will paddle past Pidurangala rock and reach the 5th century Sigiriya moats, which would be a peaceful, serene ride. While moving forward, you will get a glimpse of the rural life of the villagers, from their humble homes, to beautiful cultivations that displays their self-sufficiency. Finally halting your ride at a local abode of a villager to learn the art of preparing a local sweet meat lesser known as “Kokkis” a local delicacy. And last but not least, take a break on the lake bund to take pictures, followed by the ride to Digampathana to the finishing point of the ride.
