Ella Odyssey – Scenic Train Journey

A new train line has been added to the daily hill country local train schedule that includes a train ride from Kandy to Demodara – Ella. This is called Ella Odyssey, yet another scenic train journey which would be a memorable portion of your stay in Sri Lanka. The specialty of this train journey that it consists of scenic stops such as St.Claire waterfalls, Great Western railway station, Elgin falls,  IGH station (the highest railway station in Sri Lanka), Tunnel no.18, 9 Arch bridge and Demodara bridge and Tunnel.

Starting at 7am from Kandy railway station, this scenic journey will enable you to descend & enjoy your favourite view points along the way. It will reach Demodara around 2.45 in the afternoon, providing you time to reach your hotel and relax and unwind. The train will have an airconditioned first class compartment, non a/c second class seats and also a restaurant serving buffet which will have 70 seats, sufficient for socializing. Tickets are to be pre-booked as any other train journey. This new venture is sure to be a unique experience for all wanderlust travelers of Sri Lanka.
